Wooden Coffee Stirrers
Wooden Coffee Stirrers are inexpensive yet critical to a great cup of coffee. When you think of a wooden coffee stirrer you think of it as the single item that has nothing to do with your actual coffee. Everything else that you put into your coffee, stays in your coffee. But not the wooden coffee stirrers.
Wooden coffee stirrers are important because they are the single item that is used as the catalyst to transform an average non-custom cup of coffee from a coffee pot into a personalized creation that exists inside of your coffee cup. The stirrer is responsible for combining all of the elements you carefully add to a cup of coffee before drinking it. It is rare to give it any level of importance, yet try drinking a cup of coffee, cream, sugar, syrups, etc that has not been properly stirred. It is not nearly as delicious. As you can see, the wooden coffee stirrer is very important.
Wooden coffee stirrers are usually free to the consumer at any place where you purchase coffee. They are an assumed commodity, the same as salt is to a restaurant table. Yet wooden coffee stirrers do cost money. They may only cost around a penny each, which may not sound like a lot of money, but it certainly is enough that you should not be wasting wooden coffee stirrers. Just as you would not think of throwing a penny away into the garbage, nor should you ever take more stirrers than you need or carelessly let extra stirrers fall into the garbage.
The last thing to note is that wooden coffee stirrers are absolutely better for the environment than plastic stirrers. While plastic stirrers have the advantage that they do not normally degrade during use, and therefore do not impact the coffee taste in any way, they do stay in landfills for long periods of time. Whereas a wooden stirrer is completely biodegradable and made from naturally renewable resources.
Critical to the perfect cup of coffee, relatively inexpensive, and environmentally friendly, wooden coffee stirrers are one of the most overlooked yet perfectly functional tools in use today.
