Thermal Coffee Carafe

There is nothing more disappointing and terrible tasting than a cold cup of coffee. The bad taste is of course compounded because you are expecting excellent flavorful coffee and what you get is a taste of cold terrible tasting liquid. This is no offense to the iced coffee drinkers of the world. But when you drink an iced coffee, you are expecting iced coffee. When you are expecting hot coffee and get cold, that is a terrible experience.

The Thermal Coffee Carafe is the primary weapon we can use to avoid cold coffee. A carafe is simply a container or pitcher type accessory that allows you to store and pour coffee. In fact, the traditional coffee pot is a type of carafe. The thermal carafe is simply a modified coffee pot that has been thermally insulated in order to keep the contents inside hot and to slow the cooling process. It sometimes can look similar to a travel thermos but it is not a travel thermos. These are not made with the same durability as a travel thermos and there is a clear serving spout on the end of a thermal carafe whereas a travel thermos is lacking this feature.

The thermal coffee carafe specializes in keeping the coffee warm for long periods of time. You may think back in your mind to old time coffee makers that simply kept the coffee warm by heating the coffee pot. The problem with this method is that it actually continues to cook the coffee and begins to ruin the taste. The thermal coffee carafe came along as a way to keep the coffee hot without altering the flavor. The thermal carafe is also useful because it will never begin to burn the coffee, something that is familiar to anyone that has dealt with traditional coffee pot warmers.

Thermal carafes can be purchased separately from a coffee maker or you can oftentimes find a thermal coffee carafe that is integrated into the maker itself. There are dozens of styles available, each of which caters to a specific use. If you are not using a thermal coffee carafe, and yet need a pot of coffee to last for hours, you are missing out on the single best way to keep that coffee fresh and flavorful down to the last drop. Thermal carafes can cost as little as $10 and as much as $100 depending on many factors, including the size of the carafe. For example, some carafes are meant to serve 12 cups of coffee and other are designed to serve 100. The cost of a thermal carafe is dependent upon its design, manufacturer, and size.
