Hot Air Coffee Roaster
A Hot Air Coffee Roaster is a handy machine that can be used at home for roasting the coffee beans for that classic cup of coffee. Not only are these roasters handy but are easy to use as well. All you need to do is to place the coffee beans into the machine and it will start rotating. Hot air will flow throw the coffee beans, roasting them equally from all sides. This machine is very easy to use. The hot air coffee roaster works in a similar way to a home popcorn popper machine. This roaster is also relatively inexpensive compared to the big roasting machines for commercial use.
However, hot air coffee roasters have a disadvantage, that is very minor but still needs to be taken note of, these roasters can be smoky. So before you start roasting the beans, make sure the area is fully ventilated. Since hot air coffee roasters are small they can hold only a limited amount of coffee beans. But if you are new to the experience of roasting beans, hot air coffee roasters are perfect for you.
Some good hot air roasting machines have temperature control. Once the coffee beans reach a desired temperature, the heat is cut off and the beans are cooled down, the constant moving of the roaster makes the heat distribute evenly through the beans, hence making them perfectly roasted for your cup of coffee.
Once roasted, your coffee beans can be used for up to three weeks. If kept longer than that, the coffee beans will lose their freshness. So always roast the amount needed and never roast more then you require. You can always roast the coffee as light, medium or dark. When there is a sound of first crack, you know your coffee is roasted light with a medium brown color and the size slightly increased. At this stage the coffee beans are dry. At the second crack you know your coffee is now roasted medium with moderate to dark brown color, nicely round and size enhanced. At this stage the beans release the oil and appear shinny. After some time following this stage you know the beans are fully roasted with a dark brown color. At this stage coffee beans are very oily and charcoal like. You can roast the coffee beans as per your requirement to get your desired cup of coffee. Get yourself a hot air coffee roaster and start making your own signature cup of coffee.
