Heated Travel Coffee Mug
For those that find an insulated travel coffee thermos is not enough to keep their coffee warm, there is a another product available to coffee lovers, the Heated Travel Coffee Mug. It never ceases to amaze me how many accessories and unique products that are available to coffee drinkers. In the end I am certain every coffee lover will say that it is all about the coffee, but after seeing so many products, I am not so certain. Although the heated travel coffee mug is one product I can recommend, if for no other reason than it will allow you to avoid the horrible experience of drinking cold coffee.
Heated coffee mugs are traditionally only available for travel. This is because at home you normally have access to heated coffee coasters or simply heated coffee from the carafe. But when traveling, if the thermos is not good enough, the heated travel coffee mug is the only way to make certain you always have access to good hot coffee.
As with all other coffee products, there are dozens of manufactures and styles that are available. Most of these appear to have been designed to fit within the cup holder of the average car, but just in case you see one that is not, know that it will be a hassle to use if it cannot be held in place by a cup holder. Another standard feature is that almost every heated travel coffee mug is powered through your automobiles 12V cigarette outlet.
My favorite heated travel coffee mug is the Dual USB & 12V heated mug. It is primarily stainless steel and has a plastic handle so you can hold it while hot. The lid is made for sipping while on the go, and the entire unit is cup holder friendly. What I particularly like is that it can be heated from both a car cigarette lighter and from a laptop USB port. Of course this will drain your laptop battery, but if you find yourself somewhere without coffee but a plug for your laptop, you can maintain hot coffee.
The heated travel coffee mug is one product that is worth purchasing. There are many times when I have wanted a little coffee from an insulated thermos only to find that it is cold. With the heated mug this will never again be a problem.
